More Testimials
This letter of recommendation is on behalf of Yehoshua
Redfern, whom I have had the extreme pleasure of
knowing as a Cantor, Religious Leader, and Teacher at
Congregation Kneseth Israel of Annapolis, Maryland.
During his twelve year tenure, he set the standard of
a serious observant Jew to the membership of this
nearly 100 year-old congregation.
As cantor, he steadfastly led daily minyan, shabbat
and holiday services, actively participated in a
myriad of congregational activities, and assisted
individual members with both joyous and sorrowful
life-cycle events. His melodious voice in religious
services and annual concerts was an inspiration to the
congregation and entire Jewish community of greater
Anne Arundel County.
He has a wonderful rapport with youngsters of all
ages, often teaching and leading songs for children in
nursery school and Jewish day school. Cantor Redfern
served as the Congregational Bar and Bat Mitzvah
teacher for over a decade. In my experience with the
preparation and training of our son for his Bar
Mitzvah, the weekly lessons were presented in a clear
and logical manner, and were evenly paced. He had
considerable patience and understanding, and clearly
exhibited the teaching skills to optimize the product
of those with limited musical range. This was all
accomplished in a very pleasant and engaging manner.
Every Bar and Bat Mitzvah student that he trained was
well prepared, technically and emotionally for their
simcha.
In my frequent interactions with Mr. Redfern, he is
always very pleasant and understanding. He is easy to
talk to and has always exhibited an optimistic
attitude. He has been an important member of our
small Jewish community. His departure will leave a
void spiritually as well as artistically. I have the
highest praise for Yehoshua Redfern and recommend him
to you without any reservation whatsoever. Please
feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Barnett A. Rattner,Ph.D.
